Annual Nyege Nyege Festival 2019

THOSE thinking about  attending the annual Nyege Nyege festival. This is why you should attend the festival atleast once in your life. Here are nyege nyege tips for you to go live your best life in Jinja. This year. The festival is from 5-8th Sept 2019.

Transport : Pick your struggle: A Return bus ticket from Nairobi to Jinja is around 8k, a return flight ticket is aleast 35k, or you and your squad can decide to drive to Jinja.

Getting Into Uganda : Uganda is visa free for East African Nationals so even Kenyan passport holders get in visa free.
You will need a yellow fever certificate. This is a MUST. Kama unaogopa kudungwa sijui utasaidika aje.

Accomodation : Pick your struggle, you can choose to camp for cheap at the venue. Some tents overlook the  river nile. Book a Hotel in Jinja in advance. They fill up pretty fast. - booking.com has a budget for everyone. Rent an apartment via Airbnb. As early as now.

The Event : there's not enough words to describe the fest. You have to experience it for yourself. Last year, the 4 day ticket cost about 4k. There were 5 stages with one on an island  with a line up of what felt like hundreds of internationals artists. There were beers going for 80 Bob and proper food going for 250. I'm not kidding.

It usually rains around that time in Uganda. It didn't rain last year but it's good to prep yourself for the rains.  I dare say Nyege Nyege is the best most affordable fest in East Africa.
